Back in 2009, when the world was queuing up to see Avatar whilst regretting having seen Wolverine Origins, Matt and Scott came up with the idea for a men’s website. They were fed up with the corporate business style that had taken over the men's grooming market. Where sites would push the big name brands just to meet sales targets.
They made The Modern Man.
A completely independent site that gave control back to the consumer. Where you could find premium products that challenge the status quo of the mens market. Just like Status Quo completely failed to do to the music industry.
Yes, they weren’t the first ones to think of this, but being the egotistical maniacs they are, they knew they could do it the best.

Long story short, we came here to sell quality grooming products and chew bubblegum. And we’re all out of bubble gum.
